Alpha Arbutin - Alpha Arbutin has a similar structure as tyrosine (a non-essential amino acid that binds with tyrosinase to catalyse melanin synthesis). Due to its perfect affinity for active sites of tyrosinase Alpha Arbutin blocks tyrosine. It is thereby inhibiting melanin production without affecting cell viability, unlike Kojic Acid, which decreases tyrosine production and can be cytotoxic. 2. Niacinamide - Niacinamide, one of the two active forms of vitamin B3, is an essential nutrient for living cells. It is a well-researched molecule of importance as it builds an epidermal barrier that acts as the first line of defence against oxidative stress. 3.
