Avarampoo (tamil name) is a wonder flower that we all overlook to use in our daily lives. Avarampooo is called tanners cassia in english, tangedu in telugu, and taravar in hindi. Its botanical name is cassia auriculata. Avarampoo grows wildly everywhere and usually it is found plenty near the river beds. There is a small stream near our farm and I love to go for walks there and there are plenty of avarmpoo near the stream. It is very serene there, especially when the water is flowing. I love to look at the avarampoo flowers and usually they are in full bloom throughout the year. Avarampoo flowers are very cooling and both the leaves and flowers are used for home remedies,based on the indian medical systems of ayurveda and siddha, avaram poo is an effective remedy for controlling diabetics. It is a is coolant, improves liver function, blood purifier, good laxative and a natural source of anti oxidants. It is useful in regulating menstrual cycle. It is also a good medicine for skin related problem, gives glow to the skin,removes body odor. How to make avarampoo tea:1. Take dried avarampoo in a teapot2. Add boiling hot water to the infuser3. Allow it to steep in 10 seconds4. Strain and remove the infuser5. Pour the tea into a cup6. Add honey for taste7. This tea has ready to drink.
