Portrait of sylvette (1954)- this is the portrait of a young woman with the ponytail. The model for the painting was (lydia) sylvette david, also known by her married name lydia corbett, a french woman who worked in a pottery studio near picassos studio in vallauris, in the summer of 1953. Picasso created 40 works inspired by her. Lydia corbetts was the face that launched a thousand french ponytails. Sylvette david was at the center of a media storm and breaking hearts throughout europe. Seated woman with green shawl (1960)- picassos paintings frequently features a woman seated in an armchair. The identity of this solemn, full-length figure is undeniable it is jacqueline, who appears to be looking at us with a blend of seriousness and tranquillity, not only in full face but also in profile.
